Who I am

Greetings! My name is Monika, and I'm the founder of Logical K9, which has been serving the greater Phoenix area for over 15 years. As a parent, trainer, and teacher, I've dedicated myself to the art of balanced dog training, focusing on creating a shared understanding between pets and their owners. 

For the past 5 years, I have been privileged to serve as a lead educator in the Service Dog Program at Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center. Through positive reinforcement techniques, I have helped students develop the skills necessary to train canines for specialized services. This experience has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of canine behavior and training methodologies, further enriching my ability to assist dog owners like you. 

 

My Experience

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to the professional training and handling of dogs, and it has been an incredibly rewarding journey. I have been fortunate to participate in various dog competitions and dog breed conformation shows, where my skills and expertise have been recognized and celebrated.

One of the highlights of my journey has been excelling in Schutzhund, IPO, and French Ring competitions. These events test a dog's abilities in obedience, tracking, and protection work, and I have consistently showcased the remarkable capabilities of the dogs I have worked with. The thrill of seeing our hard work pay off and witnessing the incredible teamwork between me and my canine partners is truly indescribable.

In addition to these demanding competitions, I have also competed in the Protection Sports Association, a civilian competition that focuses on canine obedience and controlled protection. This unique experience has further honed my abilities in handling and training dogs to perform under different circumstances and in diverse environments.

Beyond the realm of competitions, I have had the privilege of participating in the American Kennel Club Show Arrowhead Kennel Club Inc., where I achieved the prestigious "Best of Winners" title. This recognition among a diverse range of breeds speaks to my dedication and skill in presenting dogs to their fullest potential.

My passion for understanding the science behind dog breeding and genetics has led me to obtain certification from the American Kennel Club. This certification validates my knowledge and expertise in the art and science of domestic animal breeding, specifically focusing on the intricate world of canine genetics. Exploring the complexities and possibilities of breeding has been a fascinating aspect of my journey, and I continuously strive to expand my understanding in this field.

Overall, my experience in training and handling dogs professionally has been incredibly fulfilling. The countless hours spent working with these remarkable creatures, the challenges overcome, and the victories achieved have shaped me into the skilled and passionate individual I am today. I look forward to continuing this journey, continually learning and growing alongside the dogs who have become not only my companions but also my partners in success.

Continuing my education in the field of canines is a fundamental aspect of my work. I am deeply committed to staying updated with the latest advancements, techniques, and research in canine training. By immersing myself in ongoing education, I ensure that I can provide the most up-to-date and effective services for my clients and their dogs.

Through continuous learning, I constantly seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. This includes attending workshops, seminars, and conferences conducted by renowned experts in the field. By staying at the forefront of industry developments, I can offer innovative and cutting-edge approaches to training dogs and coaching their handlers.

I firmly believe that investing in my own education is crucial for providing the highest level of service to my clients. It allows me to integrate the most current and evidence-based practices into my training programs, ensuring optimal results and positive outcomes. I am dedicated to evolving my expertise and refining my techniques to meet the evolving needs of both dogs and their owners.

How I do it 

When it comes to dog training, my approach revolves around patient observations, step-by-step disassembly of behaviors, and positive reinforcement. I emphasize the importance of teaching dogs throughout the behavior modification process rather than relying on corrections through the modification process. By carefully reading the dog's body language and paying attention to every detail, I ensure that the training process is effective and enjoyable. I also implement management strategies when necessary to prevent or address unwanted behaviors. 

Collaborating with multiple dog trainers as well as dog training facilities and schools, has provided me and the dogs I work with ample opportunities for new experiences and socialization. Through balanced training and a focus on understanding, I am committed to helping dog owners develop the necessary skills and knowledge to establish a respectful relationship with their dogs.
